LS Election-2024: DEO Shopian reviews arrangements for Home & Postal Voting

Shopian : The District Election Officer, Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on Teusday reviewed arrangements with Nodal officers and Magistrates for hassle free and smooth conduct of Home Voting and Postal Voting process in the Zainpora Assembly Constituency of the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency in a meeting held, here.
It was intimated that 225 voters, mostly old aged and specially-abled voters shall exercise their franchise at their homes in 48 locations in the AC- Zainapora, the voting of which shall be held from 01 May.
17 polling parties have been made to ensure home voting under proper protocol, security, magisterial and observer arrangements.
Nodal Officer, Home Voting and Postal Ballots intimated the meeting regarding the process of home and postal voting. He also informed that all logistical and manpower arrangements have been made for seamless conduct of elections.
The postal voting centre has been established at Mini Secretariat, where 306 electors shall cast their vote from May 01- 03.
DEO reviewed security, transport and magisterial arrangements, and instructed concerned citizens to ensure effective coordination for the smooth and successful conduct of postal and home voting.
In order to make the ongoing election process more inclusive, home voting and postal voting has been effectively planned in the district for facilitating old aged, specially-abled persons and employees to cast their vote at ease at their homes and facilitation centres respectively.
DEO also instructed the presence of Booth level agents of political parties for overseeing the election process.
The meeting was attended by ADC Shopian, AROs, concerned Nodal Officers, Magistrates and other concerned.
