Lady drug smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in B’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has booked a lady drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla after obtaining formal detention order from competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the lady drug smuggler resident of Shahwalayat Colony Umerabad Srinagar has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority, adding therein that the booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Stating that a case was registered against the said drug smuggler for being involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Pattan, Tangmarg Nowpora, Wagoora, Kreeri and other areas of District, Police in its statement further said that despite the involvement of the said accused in many FIRs, she did not mend her activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that people of the Baramulla appreciated the role played by it for their action against drug peddlers.
