2 absconders arrested in Handwara: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two absconders in Handwara who were evading their arrest from last 25 years.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the warrant under section 512 CRPC was issued by court of CJM Handwara pending with Police Station Handwara against two accused Jahangir Ahmad Shah S/o Sonaullah Shah R/o Hamlapati Rajpora involved in case FIR no 197/1999 u/s 354,452,456, RPC of Police Station Handwara and Mohd Kamal Mir S/o Habibullah Mir R/o Nichama Zachaldara involved in case FIR no 67/1996 u/s 04 explosive substance act of Police Station Handwara, adding therein that both the accused were evading their arrest from last 25 years.
Stating the said arrests were made by Police team led by InCharge Police Post Zachaldara under the supervision of SDPO Handwara and subsequently, the arrested accused persons were produced before the Court of Law, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to keep society free of crime and also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
