Under Trial Review meeting held at Distt Court Kulgam

Kulgam: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kulgamon Saturday convened its first Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC)-2024 meeting at District Court Kulgam to streamline and expedite the judicial process, aiming for timely resolution of cases and alleviating the burden on the litigants.
The meeting was conducted in strict adherence to the directives issued by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and J&K Legal Services Authority (J&K LSA) under the able guidance and supervision of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Kulgam (Chairman DLSA Kulgam) (Chairman UTRC).
The meeting witnessed fruitful discussions on implementing innovative strategies and best practices to further enhance the efficiency of the judiciary in District Kulgam.
The meeting headed by Pr. District & Sessions Judge and Chairman District Legal Services Authority, ParvaizIqbal, was attended by CJM /Sub Judge Kulgam Ab. Qayoom, Civil Judge (Sr. Division) /Secretary, DLSA Kulgam, TabassumQadirParray, Additional Deputy Commissioner KulgamWaqarGire, Additional Superintendent of Police KulgamTanveer, Superintendent District Jail Anantnag HamidullahNaik, Public Prosecutor Kulgam, Aijaz Ahmad, Incharge Subsidiary Jail Anantnag, Medical Officer Kulgam, Deputy Chief LADC, RoshanAara and Assistant LADC, BasitFarooq.
Their meeting underscored the commitment and dedication of all stakeholders towards the effective functioning of the UTRC.
With their diverse expertise and experience, these esteemed officials contributed valuable insights and recommendations that will shape the future of the under-trial system in Kulgam.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the progress and status of the cases that were recommended to be considered for release in the meetings.
In addition, the participants engaged in fruitful deliberations on various issues pertaining to under trial cases including case pendency, legal aid, bail, and other relevant matters.
During the meeting, 08 inmates were discussed to be recommended for release. Out of the 13 inmates, 02 inmates/ under trials were recommended to be released.
The meeting concluded with commitment to ensuring the administration of justice in a fair and efficient manner.
Through initiatives like UTRC meetings, it strives to address the challenges faced by the under trial inmates and work towards achieving a more effective and expedited legal system.
