Subject to fair weather, Gurez Grid connectivity to be restored within weeks’ time: DC B’pora

Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ur Rehman as a sequel to the meeting held on Friday, held another round of deliberations with various stakeholders in a meeting at VC Room, Mini Secretariat Bandipora to discuss issues for restoration of grid connected electricity supply to Gurez that got damaged during recent snowfall.
While reviewing the restoration of electricity supply to Gurez through grid connectivity, the DC directed the concerned agencies to complete the restoration work within weeks’ time, provided fair weather conditions.
It is worth mentioning here that Gurez was connected to the electricity grid for the first time in November last year but got cut off due to recent heavy snowfall in the Razdan area.
The DC assessed the requirements for early restoration and asked the concerned from Beacon to provide support in order to carry men and machinery to restoration spots.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized close coordination and proactive approach of various stakeholders for swift restoration of electricity and to minimize disruptions to essential services.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Mohammad Ashraf, Superintendent of Police Shafaat Mohammad, CPO M Maqbool, OC Beacon, Executive Engineer STD Ganderbal Lenin Kumar, Executive Engineer Electric Division Bandipora Mohammad Hafeez and other concerned.
