Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested seven persons involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Baramulla and also seized 7 vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that it initiated action under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla, SDPO Tangmarg and Kreeri assisted by SHO Police Station Tangmarg, SHO Police Station Kunzer, SHO Police Statioin Baramulla and InCharge Police Post Wagoora arrested. Police in its statement further said that seven persons arrested by it were identified as namely Bilal Shah S/o Akbar Shah R/o Takiya Batpora, Wakeel Malla S/o Assadullah R/o Heing Rajpora, Waseem Ahmad Thokar S/o Gh Nabi R/o Khaitangan,Farooq Ahmad Reshi S/o Ab Rehman R/o Paraswani, Aadil Hussain Beigh S/o Ab Rashid R/o Ganibaba Kunzer, Bilal Ahmad Malik S/o Mushtaq Ahmad R/o Drangbal, Bashir Ahmad Dar S/o Lal Din R/o Kanispora illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Stating that 6 Tippers and 1 Tractor were seized from the possession of the said accused, Police in its statement furthermore said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at respective police stations besides initiating further investigation into the case.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah/River, as it is the violation of Government rules. Police also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as
