Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime in Kulgam district and also recovered stolen property from his possession within three hours after the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 14th April this year Police Station Yaripora received a written complaint from one Abdul Rashid Dhobi S/o Ghulam Rasool Dhobi R/o Yaripora, who alleged therein that on 14th April at about 20:00 hours, some unknown thieves in have stolen his bag from his shop at Main Chowk Yaripora.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 24/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Yaripora, the Police in its statement further said that a special team led by SHO Police Station Yaripora was constituted, who after strenuous efforts and by using all available means rounded up few suspects and put them to sustained questioning. Police in its statement furthermore said that during questioning, one suspect namely Saqib Ahmad Ganie S/o Abdul Rashid Ganie R/o Yaripora admitted his involvement in the commission of crime who was accordingly arrested, adding therein the on the disclosure of the said accused the stolen property (cash amount of rupees ₹36240/=) and Record Book of his shop were recovered by the police team and moreover further investigation of the case is in progress.
