3-days’ painting exhibition begins at Kala Kendra

Jammu : A three days’ painting exhibition by Pallavi Sambhyal, organized by the Kala Kendra Society, at the G R Santosh Gallery, began here on Monday with its formal inauguration by Principal Secretary, Culture and Tribal Affairs, Suresh Kumar Gupta.
The inaugural event witnessed presence of a number of dignitaries including Secretary Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Sanjeev Rana; Secretary Kala Kendra Society, Dr. Javaid Rahi; Regional Director IGNCA, Shruti Awasthi, Convenor INTECH, S M Sahni, Ravinder Kaul, noted Art Critic and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Former Additional Secretary of the Academy among others.
The visitors comprising artists and individuals from various walks of life graced the occasion with their participation.
Suresh Kumar Gupta commended the art work of Pallavi Sambhyal, keenly observing its reflection of the diverse landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir. He underscored the recent initiative of Kala Kendra Jammu in reopening all galleries for artists to exhibit their work, encouraging artists to take advantage of this opportunity.
Pallavi Sambhyal, born and brought up in Samba district of Jammu region, shared her journey as an artist, expressing her passion for portraying the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir through her landscape paintings. She is also imparting training to youngster in the field of art and designing.
The exhibition will continue for three days, offering art enthusiasts and the public an opportunity to immerse themselves in the artistic portrayal of region’s natural splendor.
Earlier, Dr. Javaid Rahi highlighted the exhibition’s focus on showcasing the rich landscape of Jammu and Kashmir through the 50 paintings on display. He emphasized that the event aims to provide a platform for J&K artists to exhibit their talent.
