Srinagar: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, on Saturday convened a meeting of all Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division to review the arrangements at polling stations in the constituents of all three Parliamentary Constituencies to facilitate the polling staff and voters.
While reviewing the arrangements for electricity, drinking water facilities besides toilets at designated polling stations across the Valley, Div Com directed all DCs to ensure availability of basic amenities for the smooth conduct of Parliamentary Elections. He also reviewed comprehensive security arrangements at polling stations for the safety of staff and voters. He also directed for creating a conducive environment for peaceful voting process.
Besides, Div Com directed for looping in line departments to ensure uninterrupted services during Polling Days and maintenance of close synergy among stakeholders and agencies. Moreover, Div Com reviewed overall preparation of District Administrations for Parliamentary Election and facilities created for disabled and elderly voters to exercise their franchise.
