Anantnag: Following issuance of the election notification for 3- Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency, a review meeting was on Friday held at the Dak Bungalow Khanabal.
The meeting was chaired by the Election Expenditure Observer, ShyamManohar Singh and attended by the Returning Officer of the constituency, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, who is also District Election Officers (DEO), and the Superintendents and Senior Superintendents of Police of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Poonch and Rajouri Districts.
Election Nodal Officers and Assistant Expenditure Observers of the Constituency were also present.
The Returning Officer, SF Hamid briefed the meeting on the overall profile of the parliamentary constituency and the steps taken to ensure a transparent, free and fair election process.
Later, the respective DEOs and SSPs briefed the observer regarding the district profiles, status of Flying Squad Teams, Static Surveillance Teams, Media Certification and Monitoring Committees, Trainings, Model Code of Conduct related adherence, Expenditure Monitoring, seizures of cash and contraband, if any. Notably the election notification of the 3- Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency has been issued on 12th April. The last date of filing of nomination is 19th April, date of scrutiny is 20th April while the last date of withdrawal of candidature is 22nd April. The poll date for the constituency is 7th May 2024.
