Kathua: As part of Systematic Voters’ Education and lectoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, several engaging activities were organized in Nagri here to raise voter awareness and maximize participation in electoral process.
One of the highlights of SVEEP activities was lively NukkadNatak (street play) staged in Tehsil Nagri Parole, which captivated audience with its message regarding importance of voting and civic responsibility.
Additionally, a discussion and seminar was conducted for students and teachers, providing them insights into electoral process and encouraging their active participation in democracy.
The event concluded with voters’ pledge, wherein attendees vowed to exercise their right to vote in upcoming elections.
The programme was organized under the supervision of ARO 67- Kathua AC, VishavPratap Singh (ACR Kathua).
Speaking on the occasion, Tehsildar, AanaJamwal said that Tehsil administration is making all out efforts to educate voters about important role they can play in deciding their representatives while setting aside biases besides contributing to biggest democratic exercise of the world.
Principal GHHS Nagri Parole, JatinderSethi, staff and students were also present on the occasion.
LS Elections 2024: Training session for POs held at Doda, Bhaderwah
Doda: In preparation for upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, a significant training session for Presiding Officers (POs) was initiated on Friday at community halls of Doda and Bhaderwah here.
The session, overseen by District Election Officer, Harvinder Singh, aimed to equip approximately 300 POs with essential knowledge and skills.
Under the guidance of NLMT, ECI/Training Incharge, Riaz Ahmed Butt, District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) conducted hands-on training, emphasizing adherence to rules, regulations, and importance of performing duties diligently.
POs were urged to approach their responsibilities with utmost dedication, zeal and zest, understanding significance of their role in ensuring fair and efficient elections. Maintaining mutual cooperation and support among the polling staff was highlighted as essential for the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
Additionally, strict adherence to timeliness was underscored, recognizing its critical role in the seamless functioning of polling stations.
Master Trainers provided comprehensive training covering various aspects of election process, including VVPAT/EVM operation, documentation and specific duties and precautions for POs.
The POs were equipped with necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage polling stations and address any challenges that may arise during the elections.
LS Elections 2024: RO Udhampur PC visits Billawar, Basohli, Bani to oversee election preparedness
Kathua: Returning Officer (RO), Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency (PC), Dr. Rakesh Minhas on Friday conducted a comprehensive visit to Billawar, Basohli and Bani Assembly Constituencies to oversee preparations for upcoming elections.
During the visit, the RO inspected polling stations and the strong-room for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), ensuring all logistical arrangements are in place.
The RO conveyed to Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) of respective ACs that polling parties for the assembly constituencies be dispatched accordingly so that all polling parties shall reach at their Polling Stations well in advance.
Instructions were given to the AROs to provide polling parties with necessary materials and dispatch them to their designated polling stations.
The RO also held meeting with AROs of Basohli, Billawar and Bani Assembly Constituencies which was attended by Zonal Magistrates, Sector Officers, and Sector Police Officers also.
During these meetings, the RO briefed the attendees on election details and clarified their respective responsibilities. Special emphasis was placed on careful handling of EVMs and ensuring proper communication and wireless reporting on polling day.
Besides, the RO directed the AROs to arrange sufficient number of ponies to address any challenges in reaching EVMs and polling parties to remote areas. Sector Officers were instructed to attend all training sessions diligently and provide voter turnout reports to the control room every two hours on polling day.
LS Elections 2024: DEO Poonch flags off mega SVEEP rally
Poonch: District Election Officer (DEO), Yasin Mohd Choudhary on Friday flagged off massive SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) rally, marking a vibrant celebration of democracy and voter engagement.
The rally, organised by Department of School Education witnessed enthusiastic participation of teachers, first time voters and citizens from all walks of life.
Dozens of schools came together, portraying electoral process through captivating tableaux. Each tableau depicted various components of the electioneering process, emphasizing the importance of participation from all sections of society.
From honouring senior citizens and empowering women to encouraging first-time voters and acknowledging the precious service voters, the tableau beautifully showcased the diversity and inclusivity of our electoral system.
Furthermore, the tableau highlighted essential facilities like introduction of pink booths for women, stringent security measures and significance of voting for national interest transcending party politics, caste, colour and religion.
The rally commenced from DC office, traversing through main roads and culminated at Sports Stadium Poonch.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Election Officer emphasized the pivotal role of every citizen in the grand festival of democracy – voting in general elections. He lauded the Education Department for organizing this grand rally, underscoring the importance of educating and mobilizing citizens for active participation in the electoral process.
Adding to the fervour, hundreds of bikers, adorned with flags and placards, lent their support to the rally, amplifying the message of democracy and voter empowerment.
Deputy District Election Officer Poonch, Chief Education Officer Poonch, DEPO Poonch, Master Trainer, ZEPO Poonch, coordinator of the rally, SVEEP district team members and heads of schools were also present on the occasion.
LS Elections 2024: Water Rafting event under SVEEP campaign held at Doda for Youth voters
Doda: As part of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative,District Election Authority (DEA) organized a unique event to engage and empower young voters ahead of 2024 LokSabha Elections.
Held at ShibnoteThathri, the event combined excitement of water rafting with a call to action for civic duty, aiming to generate awareness and emphasize importance of youth participation in the electoral process.
The event received the distinguished presence of the District Election Officer (DEO) of Doda, Harvinder Singh, who highlighted the crucial role of youth in shaping the nation’s democratic landscape.
Under the slogan ‘Merapehla vote deshkeliye, Deshkeparv, DeshkeGarv’, the event aimed to inspire sense of pride and responsibility among young voters towards exercising their democratic right.
During the event, participants took part in a pledge ceremony, solemnly committing to cast their valuable votes on polling day. The pledge ceremony served as a poignant reminder of individual’s power to influence direction of the nation and ensure representation for all segments of society.

LS Elections 2024: 2nd round randomisation of polling staff held at Ramban
Ramban: District Election Officer Ramban, Baseer Ul-Haq Chaudhary on Friday presided over the second round of randomization process of polling staff designated for deployment across 348 polling stations in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024.
Virtually monitored by the General Observer for 04- Parliament Constituency, Dheeraj Kumar and Police Observer Daljit Singh, the randomization exercise took place at the video conference hall of the DC office complex here in presence of all stakeholders.
The randomization adhered guidelines stipulated by the Election Commission of India (ECI), ensuring fairness and impartiality in the selection of polling staff.
Assistant Returning Officers, Dy.DEO, DIO NIC and others were also present during the randomization process.
While giving the insight of the ongoing election process, the DEO Ramban said all the prerequisites are being fulfilled as per the ECI mandate.
He further underscored the paramount importance of transparency and integrity in the electoral process, reaffirming the commitment towards conducting free, fair and credible elections.
LS Elections 2024: Proactive awareness campaign under SVEEP held at Ramban
Ramban: Acting on the directives of District Election Officer, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, a proactive awareness campaign under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative unfolded across the district, aimed at fostering increased engagement of labour voters in the electoral process.
Led by Assistant Labour Commissioner, Amit Kumar and the SVEEP team, dedicated awareness camps were organized at Seri, Digdol, Magarkote and Nachilana, strategically targeting voters working at various construction sites including national projects, emphasizing their pivotal role in shaping democratic outcomes.
Themed ‘Every Vote Matters’ the campaign underscored importance of active participation in elections, particularly among all working sections of society. Through educational sessions and community engagement activities, participants were encouraged to exercise their voting rights on voting day, which has been declared a paid holiday by the authorities, fostering a culture of inclusivity and democratic empowerment.
Speaking at the event, the Nodal Officer directed construction agencies to implement orders regarding paid holidays for all labourers on polling day to ensure their ability to cast their valuable votes. He reiterated the SVEEP team’s unwavering commitment towards ensuring active involvement of every segment of society in the electoral process.
