Srinagar| April,11: Chairman J&K Civil Society Forum (JkCSF) Abdul Qayoom Wani expressed his dismay over the troublesome confusion of holiday or working day on 11th April and silence silence of UT administration for not clearing the confusion by a proper govt order.
In a statement issued here Chairman Jammu and Kashmir JKCSF and former Chairman EJAC Abdul Qayoom wani has questioned the UT administration for remaining silent over the grim issue on the occasion of festival of Eid Ul Fiter and not issuing an order of holiday as the Eid holiday is subject to appearance of crescent. The statement said that shawal moon was sighted in Jammu and Kashmir UT and Ladakh UT on 9 April, stating therein that Ladakh administration issued promptly order of holiday for Eid for 10th April while as JK UT administration remained strangely silent when people particularly the employees were eagerly waiting for the holiday order. He said this silence was still continues when the Grand Mufti of JK had announced Eid celebration for 10th April and even LG Manoj Sinha greeted people on the occasion.
Stating that surprisingly the Attendence App too was not updated and it showed employees status as ‘ Absent’,Wani in his statement said  ” The confusion continued on 11th April when still no order was issued and the calender and Attendence App displayed ‘Holiday’ status. This now not only doubled confusion among employees whether they should observe holiday or attend offices because lower second and third rank officers direced employees on social media to attend duties whileas no the holiday status remains unchanged and no cancellation order came from top administration. This created confusion among common people including old age pensioners and widows whether they should visit govt offices, banks or not. This situation is unfortunate”. Wani also said that Govt’s this approach is not people friendly when people were to celebrate the most revered and pios festival.
