Srinagar|April 11: Amid confusion over Eid Holiday on Wednesday Aijaz Ahmad Khan the Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) has appealed Jammu and Kashmir Government to issue an order from General Administration Department (GAD) over Eid Holiday on Wednesday for the employees of Jammu & Kashmir Government to end the ongoing confusion.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Khan said that despite no modification order from the Jammu & Kashmir Government’s General Administration Department or administrative secretaries of other departments the Government employees have returned to duties but are not allowed to mark Attendance and Banks are also closed under some directive from Reserve Bank Of India(RBI). Khan in his statement said that confusion over Eid Holiday on Wednesday started with Jammu & Kashmir celebrating Eid on Wednesday along with Ladhak Union Territory, Tamil Nadu and Kerala and rest of the country celebrating it today on Thursday but surprisingly J&K Government did not issue any modification order or clarification despite the fact that Ladhak UT Administration and J&K High Court in their separate orders have declared Eid Holiday for Wednesday and Thursday a working day. He called upon both the Jammu and Kashmir Government and as well as the Jammu and Kashmir Bank to immediately issue an order to declare Wednesday a public holiday for Eid for the employees to end the confusion that has panicked employees over Eid Holiday on Thursday instead of Wednesday.
