Srinagar: Top political leaders of Jammu & Kashmir including four former Chief Ministers Dr Farooq, Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Gh Nabi Azad besides Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone, J&K Congress President Vikar Rasool Wani and Chairman J&K Peoples Deomocratic Front Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen have greet people on the auspicious occasion of Eid Ul Fitr.
In his Eid greetings National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah said, “I extend my warm wishes to people on the auspicious occasion praying that the Almighty accept our month-long fasting, repentance, prayers and rectitude. I urge the affluent class in the society to help those who do not have any resources to celebrate the Eid. The prevailing situation has regrettably increased the social gap with uncertainty looming large over the poorest of poor, daily wagers, marginal farmers pushing them to the brink of hunger. On the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr, the well off in our society should lend all support to the people in need.” Party Vice President Omar Abdullah while extending warm wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr said, “On this day we should include the underprivileged in our happiness. There is no superior act than sharing our resources with the people in need. I wish the candles of piety and faith remain lit in our families and neighbourhood throughout the year. I extend my warm wishes to the people on the auspicious eve with a view that the needs of the people at need are taken care of by the affluent ones. May the auspicious day increase the prospects of peace, prosperity, and brotherhood in J&K.”
Former Chief Minister and Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad has also greeted people on Eid-ul-Fitr and prayed that auspicious day strengthens the bond of peace, unity and brotherhood across J&K. In his message, Azad said “on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-fitr I extend warm greetings and good wishes to all, particularly to Muslim brothers and sisters in J&K.”
In her message of Eid greeting, the PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti prayed to the Almighty Allah to accept the month-long fasting and prayers of the faithful. She hoped the spirit of generosity, discipline, and piety generated through the Holy month is carried hereafter by people in day-to-day life as well. Mehbooba also appealed to people not to forget the disadvantaged sections of society particular-ly orphans, widows, destitute and all those who suffered during the turmoil of the past three decades dur¬ing the festivities of Eid .
President J&K Apni Pary Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari extended warm greetings to the people, particularly the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. In his message Bukhari said, “I extend heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Muslims, on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Besides festivity and joyful celebration, this auspicious occasion symbolizes our gratitude to Almighty for His gift of the month of Ramadan, which provided us with an opportunity for repentance, purification of the self, and the pursuit of piety.” Apni Party President appealed to people to share their happiness with those who are less privileged and urged them to pray for the peace and prosperity of this land, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. He said “I humbly request that we remember to share our happiness with the poor and needy and extend our help to the underprivileged members of our society while we celebrate this joyous occasion. Also, I appeal to people to pray for the peace and well-being of Jammu and Kashmir on this festive and revered occasion.
President Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Vikar Rasool Wani also extended warm greetings to people on Eid-ul-Fitr. In his message, Wani said Eid Ul Fitr is the most significant event in the Islamic Calendar which is observed after the completion of the holy month of fasting. “Those who observe a complete fast to please Almighty Allah are being rewarded with the special gift bestowed upon them in the shape of Eid Ul Fitr.”
In his message of Eid greeting Chairman J&K Peoples Democratic Front and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen said ” May Eid -ul-Fitre be harbinger of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir” . While greeting people on the auspicious occasion, Hakeem appealed people to observe the festival with utmost simplicity and austerity . He also urged people to reach out to the poor and needy on this auspicious religious festival to enable them to celebrate the Eid festival. PDF Chairman has appealed the philinthropists to extend thier compassionate and helping hand to the people in need to bring a smile on their fallen faces adding that need of the hour was to refrain ourselves from all extravagancies and help orphans, destitute and poor . Jammu Kashmir People’s Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday extended their warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the people Jammu Kashmir. In his message, he prayed for the peace, prosperity, and wellbeing of people across the Kashmir valley. He also appealed people to help out the needy who stay in the neighbourhood and extend helping hand to all those in need, so that they can also enjoy the auspicious occasion. In his Eid message he said that this is the Eid of Sacrifice and teaches us patience, I extended warm wishes on Eid-ul-Fitr and prayed for eternal peace and prosperity in the Jammu Kashmir
