‘China Could’t encroach one inch of India’s land’ Under Modi Govt: HM Amit Shah

Guwahati: In the midst of escalating tensions between India and China over the recent incident of Chinese authority renaming names of few places in Indian territory , Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a resolute message, emphasising India’s unwavering stance against any encroachment on its land. Speaking at a poll rally in Assam’s Lakhimpur, Shah underscored the Modi government’s commitment to safeguarding India’s borders and confronting external threats head-on.
Highlighting the government’s track record, Home Minister Shah asserted, “China couldn’t encroach even a single inch of our land under the Narendra Modi government.” This statement comes as a reaffirmation of India’s sovereignty and determination to protect its territorial integrity.
Recalling past confrontations, HM Shah drew attention to the 1962 Chinese aggression and criticised the response of then-Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He noted, “During the Chinese aggression of 1962, Nehru had said ‘bye-bye’ to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. People of these states can never forget that,” highlighting the contrast with the proactive approach of the current administration.
HM Shah also directed criticism towards the Opposition, particularly the Congress, for their perceived failure to effectively confront China. He refuted allegations of inaction, citing instances such as the Doklam standoff where India successfully defended its territory against Chinese encroachment attempts.
Addressing concerns over infiltration, HM Shah commended the Modi government for sealing Assam’s border with Bangladesh, thereby curbing illegal immigration. He condemned previous administrations for lax border control, asserting that the situation has improved significantly under the BJP-led government’s tenure.
Further lambasting the Congress, HM Shah highlighted the efforts of the PM Modi government in restoring stability to Assam through peace accords and initiatives to integrate youth into the mainstream. He contrasted this with the Congress’s history of unrest in the region, emphasising the need for decisive leadership.
Underlining the significance of Assam in the Northeast’s development, HM Shah pledged continued support from the central government for the state’s progress. He cited a substantial increase in funds allocated to Assam under the NDA government, expressing confidence in the state’s trajectory towards development.
Home Minister Shah’s address not only reaffirmed India’s firm stance against Chinese encroachment but also underscored the BJP government’s commitment to securing the nation’s borders and promoting regional development. As tensions persist between India and China, HM Shah’s remarks serve as a rallying call for unity and resilience in the face of external challenges.
In a separate address at an election rally in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh echoed concerns regarding recent actions by China, specifically focusing on the changing of names of Indian places. Singh highlighted that China had altered the names of 30 locations within Arunachal Pradesh and publicised these changes on its official website. Emphasising India’s firm stance, Defence Minister Singh asserted that merely altering names would not alter the ground realities.Additionally, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh drew a parallel by questioning whether renaming certain regions or provinces within China would result in them becoming part of India? This adds to the growing tension between India and China over territorial disputes, with both senior ministers reaffirming India’s sovereignty and resistance against any attempts to challenge it.
