Theft cases solved in B’la, accused arrested, stolen property recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has solved the theft cases by arresting an accused and also recovered stolen property from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said on 4th April this year the Police Station Pattan received a written application from President Masjid Baitul Huda Pattan Ab Majeed Sada who alleged therein that donation box of the Masjid has been looted by some thieves. “The applicant in his complaint also said that the accused have also stolen one jacket and mobile phone from the Masjid Sharief”, reads the above referred police statement, adding that “the accused also looted the donation box at nearby Ziyarat and further more Police Station Pattan on very next day was informed that the Samsung tab was stolen by thieves at State Bank of India in Pattan Market”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No’s 97/2024 & 102/2024 were registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan besides initiating further investigation into the case, the Police in it’s statement said that during the course of investigations of both cases and after strenuous efforts, officers zeroed in on one suspect identified as Nasir Ahmad NajarS/o Ab Rashid R/o Najar Mohalla Pattan who was traced and arrested at TRC Srinagar and during questioning accused Nasir Ahmad Najar confessed his involvement in the commission of crime.
Police in it’s statement further said that “on the disclosure of the said accused the stolen property was recovered from his possession following which he was shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police resolved to make all possible efforts to keep society free of crime and further reiterated it’s commitment to act as per law against those indulginh in criminal activities.
