Kathua: In an effort to promote informed and active participation in democratic process, a Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) event was organized in Billawar here on Monday.
The event witnessed collective efforts of POSHAN Projects, spearheading a series of awareness campaigns at the grassroots level.
The panchayat level activities saw active involvement of Anganwadi Workers (Sanginis) and Anganwadi Helpers (Sahayikas). These frontline workers played a pivotal role in disseminating crucial information and motivating women to ensure their maximum participation in upcoming electoral process.
Through a series of engaging initiatives, including informative and interactive sessions and door-to-door campaigns, the AWWs and AWHs diligently educated and encouraged women to exercise their right to vote on April 19. Their efforts were met with resounding enthusiasm and commitment from the community, reflecting a collective determination to uphold the democratic values of the nation.
Speaking about the event, ARO 64-Billawar AC expressed gratitude for unwavering dedication of AWWs and AWHs in driving voter awareness initiatives. “The success of this SVEEP event underscores the importance of grassroots mobilization in fostering a vibrant and inclusive electoral process. We commend the efforts of the Sanginis and Sahayikas for their tireless commitment to empowering women and ensuring their active participation in shaping the future of our democracy, he added.”
As nation gears up for the upcoming LokSabha elections, the collaborative efforts of organizations like POSHAN Projects, along with the dedication of frontline workers, continue to play a vital role in strengthening the democratic fabric of the country.
