Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested two persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district besides seized two vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said a police party under the supervision of Dy SP HqrsBaramulla assisted by SHO Police Sation Sheeri seized two vehicles (tipper & excavator) and also arrested two drivers namely Shabir Ahmad Malla S/o Abdul Kareem and Anzar Ahmad Malla S/o Shabir Ahmad, both residents of Sheeri Baramulla involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Sheeri.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sheeri besides initiating further investigation, the Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules and subsequently warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
