LS Elections-2024: Distt Admin Reasi organises mega voter education Prog under SVEEP

Reasi: To promote voter education and active participation in electoral process, District Administration Reasi, under the guidance of District Election Officer VisheshMahajan, organized programme under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.
The event, held at DarshaniDeodi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine ,Katra, was aimed at engaging all age voters actively in electoral process and fostering a sense of civic responsibility among them. Highlighting the importance of voter awareness, the Sangam Theatre Group performed a NukkadNatak to educate locals, pilgrims, and especially the Pithuwalas, Ponywalas, Palakiwalas, Auto drivers and Safaikaramcharis about the significance of voting.
Additionally, a SVEEP pledge was administered by District SVEEP Coordinator, Narinder Kishore, further reinforcing the commitment to voter education and participation. A local song created for urging 2.34 lakh voters to come out and vote on 26 April was also played on the occasion. Young poet Rohit Sharma an talented Mihul Sharma sang in localdogri language, mesmerizing the viewers.
District Election Officer, VisheshMahajan, emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in educating people about the electoral process, thereby encouraging maximum participation in the upcoming elections. He added that the SVEEP activity was aimed not to touch not only the local voters but also all the voters who had come for the pilgrimage of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi thus making Reasi take a lead in informing and awaring the voters .
J&K Media Nodal Officer for General Elections-2024, Sapna Kotwal; ARO-57 Anshumali, ARO-58 SDM Katra Piyush Dhotra, Dy. DEO Rakesh Kumar, CEO Mushtaq Ahmed, Nodal Officer SVEEP Nasir Ahmed and other officers were present.
