LS Elections-2024: CEO visits Kulgam, reviews arrangements for Lok Sabha Elections

CEO Also Inspects Distribution cum Collection centers

Kulgam: Chief Electoral Officer, P K Pole, on Saturday visited Kulgam and took stock of arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of upcoming general elections in the district.
The CEO, during his visit, inspected Distribution cum Collection centers set up at GDC D H Pora, GDC Kulgam and had a detailed assessment of arrangements being put in place for safety, surveillance and security of Election related material and machinery to be kept at these centres during LokSabha polls in the Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency.
Later, the CEO also chaired a meeting at mini-secretariat Kulgam to review preparations being made for the General Election 2024.
The meeting was attended by District Election Officer Kulgam, AtharAamir Khan, AROs, Dy-DEOs, Nodal Officers besides other stakeholders.
The meeting had a detailed review of District Election Management Plans for the district and discussions covered manpower management, EVM transportation, polling staff and security and other related arrangements.
The DEO, through a power point Presentation, apprised the chair of the district profile informing that the first randomization of EVMs has been done in presence of National and State level recognised political parties.
He also informed that 24×7 robust control room is functioning in the district besides SVEEP activities are being carried out as per the formulated plan
The CEO instructed the concerned officers to continue the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities with focus on educating and engaging voters effectively.
The DEO also informed the CEO that there are a total of 364 polling stations including 03 women polling stations, 03 PWD, 03 youth manned polling stations and 15 Model polling stations in the district.
The CEO stressed to initiate plantation drives at all Polling stations.
During the meeting, the SSP briefed the CEO about the security arrangements made in the district for elections.
Emphasizing the importance of Adequate Minimum Facilities (AMF), the CEO asked the concerned to ensure clean washrooms, drinking water, first aid and proper electricity for polling staff and security personnel on the Election Day.
Meanwhile, while talking to media persons, the CEO said that elaborated arrangements have been made to ensure smooth conduct of the General Elections 2024.
He appealed the people to exercise their right to vote.
Later, the CEO also visited control room and media Centre at mini-secretariat.
