Lok Sabha Elections-2024: DEO B’la reviews preparations for smooth conduct of LS Elections

Baramulla: The District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa on Saturday chaired a comprehensive meeting of officers at DakBunglow, here to review the preparations for the smooth conduct of the General Elections to LokSabha 2024 in the district.
The core agendas of the meeting included finalization of polling station locations, status of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) at the designated polling stations, requirement and availability of materials, preparation of a database for employees on essential duties, requirement and availability of vehicles and the installation of GPS on them, and other key items.
During the meeting, the DEO directed all the AROs and AEROs to visit all the polling stations in their corresponding constituencies by the end of the next week and ensure the availability of AMFs for the polling staff and the voters.
He further instructed the officers of all the departments that come under essential services like health, police, PDD, PHE, etc. to prepare a list of all the employees in advance to provide them with an option to vote by postal ballot on the election day. The Nodal Officer for Transport informed the meeting about a detailed transport plan prepared to meet any transportation needs during the election days, and the DC instructed him to include all AROs in the plan to ensure proper coordination and alignment with the arrangements in place.
Meanwhile, the DEO directed all the AROs to hold meetings with all the AEROs and Sectoral Magistrates in their corresponding constituencies to ensure seamless coordination among themselves in fulfilling their duties during the election period.
The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Baramulla/Nodal Officer, Syed QamarSajad; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina; Deputy District Election Officer, and all the AROs, AEROs, and Nodal Officers responsible for overseeing the conduct of General Election to LokSabha 2024 in the district.
