Drug peddler arrested in Awantipora; Contraband substance recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Anwatipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Post Reshipora headed by IC Police Post Reshipora at a checkpoint established at Renzipora Crossing Awantipora, arrested a drug peddler identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar S/o Mohammad Akbar Dar R/o Renzipora and during search recovered 630 grams of Charas from his possession.
Stating that the a case under FIR Number 36/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora, the Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and subsequently warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
