Theft case solved in G’bal, accused arrested: Police

Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has solved theft case by arresting an accused involved in the commission of crime here in Ganderbal.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on April 2 this year Police Station Ganderbal received a written complaint from one complainant namely Kaiser Ahmad Waza S/o Gh Mohi-ud-Din Waza R/o Tawheed Chowk Ganderbal who alleged therein that his Sister-in-law came to his house as a guest and has stolen gold ornaments which were kept in the Locker of his room.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 64/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police statement Ganderbal and further investigation was set into motion, the Police in its statement further said that while acting swiftly on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Sandeep Gupta, a special police team under the supervision of Gh Hassan Hqrs Ganderbal lead by SHO Police Station Ganderbal was constituted and after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical inputs, Police party apprehended the accused at Hari Singh Highstreet Srinagar. Police in its statement further said that later during preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to the crime and admitted that she has stolen the gold ornaments and sold them for money, adding therein that after her disclosure, cash of Rs/-1,85,500 and scooty recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested in the instant case and further investigation is going on.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that consistent actions against anti-social elements shall continue in operation and reiterated its commitment to make every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
