Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has attached properties (1 Kanal& 10 Marlas Land and single-story residential house worth approx. ₹20 lacs) belonging to a drug peddler namely Farooq Ahmad Mir S/o GhMohiuddin Mir R/o ZasporaTangmarg, District Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR No.50/2019 & 55/2023 u/s 8/20, 29 NDPS Act of PS Tangmarg and case FIR No. 142/2022 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Kunzer, adding therein that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police.
Stating that the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reaffirmed its commitment to combat the drug menace.
