Srinagar, April 04: An Indian Air Force (IAF) Apache helicopter executed an emergency landing in Ladakh during an operational training exercise on Wednesday.
The IAF attributed the incident to the challenges posed by the region’s rugged terrain and high altitude, reports said.
Despite sustaining damage, both pilots onboard the helicopter were safely recovered to the nearest airbase.
The IAF has launched a Court of Inquiry to ascertain the precise cause of the emergency landing.
Manufactured by the American aerospace giant Boeing, the Apache is renowned as a state-of-the-art multi-role combat helicopter and remains a crucial asset for the US Army.
