DC Shopian tours Keegam tehsil, interacts with public, directs DMO to check illegal mining in the area

Shopian : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on Wednesday visited and inspected the Nallah Bala Nowpora, Allowpora where he interacted with the public and listened to issues.
People flagged-off various issues including allegations of illegal mining in the area. The people of Bala Nowpora, Allowpora apprised the DC that the illegal mining damages the local water sources and orchards.
The DC after listening to them patiently, directed the District Mining Officer Shopian and his team for checking and stopping the illegal mining forthwith, if occurring in the area.
He instructed concerned to continuously monitor the area and enhance inspections in the area against the persons involved in violations and take strict action against anyone found violating the nor
DMO on the occasion apprised that strict action including seizure of machinery, vehicles, and other penal action shall be taken against the violators.
The DC was accompanied by ADC, Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; Tehsildar Keegam and DMO Shopian.
