2 absconders arrested in Shopian: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it arrested two absconders in Shopian district who were absconding from last many years.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Shopian Police arrested two Absconders namely Mohammad Yousuf Chohan S/o Mohammad Sie Chohan R/o Reshnagri Arda Shopian involved in case FIR No. 222/2014 under section 379 RPC and Tariq Ahmed Malik S/o Nazir Ahmed Malik R/o Balpora Shopian involved in case FIR No. 55/2003 under section 452, 354, 427, 323 RPC.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said warrant of arrest was issued by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Shopian and Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Shopian against them respectively, adding therein that the said accused were evading their arrests since 2014 and 2003 respectively and following their arrested they produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Shopian and Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Shopian on Ist April.
In the concluding para of itsabove quoted statement Police said that it has been implementing rigorous measures to ensure that all individuals evading their arrests are apprehended and held accountable for their criminal actions.
