Uncle kills nephew in Poonch, VDC weapon used to commit the crime

Jammu: An uncle killed his nephew in Dara Dullian in Jhulas area of Poonch district last night and the accused has been arrested by the police after the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Gagandeep Singh, son of Kulbir Singh.
The accused identified as Joginder Singh, son of Jodh Singh barged into the house of Gagandeep Singh during the night and fired upon him from a point blank range and killed him on the spot. “Immediately after hearing the gunshots, other family members got hold of the accused and called police. The accused was handed over to the police and a murder case has been registered in police station Poonch against the accused,” a police official said.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of police post Jhulas which falls under police station Poonch.
The police official said that the accused was drunk and had come with an intention to kill. “They had some family issues which were sorted out in a Gram panchayat. But the accused was not satisfied with the outcome of the Gram Panchayat which forced him to take the step to kill,” he added.
Sources said that the accused was a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member and used his VDC weapon to commit the crime.
The source further said that the deceased was wanted in many crime cases including rape and attempt to murder and police was planning to slap Public Safety Act (PSA) on him and put behind the bars.
Police have arrested the accused under murder charges and a case in this regard has been registered in police station Poonch
