Srinagar : Several political leaders have expressed grief over the loss of lives in Ramban road accident and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families.
As many as ten people were killed on Friday after a passenger taxi rolled down a deep gorge on the Jammu and Srinagar National Highway.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice- President Omar Abdullah expressed profound grief over the death of 10 passengers who died in a tragic road accident on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Battery Cheshma, in Ramban district on Friday morning.
They send their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of victims of this unfortunate road tragedy. They have also implored the administration to provide all possible help to the families of the victims.
J&K BJP also expressed grief over the loss of lives in the tragic road accident on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Ramban.
BJP President J&K UT Ravinder Raina expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time. “We pray for the speedy recovery of the injured and urge the authorities to provide all necessary assistance to those affected by this tragedy”, he said.
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti also took to Twitter and conveyed her condolences.
“Terrible to know about the accident at Ramban that claimed ten lives. My deepest sympathies to their families & loved ones”, She wrote.
Chairman of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad also expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
“Deeply saddened by the loss of 10 lives in a tragic road accident as a passenger taxi rolled down a deep gorge near Battery Cheshma in Ramban distt. The commendable rescue efforts by local NGOs from Ramban, Banihal, and Ramsoo, along with SDRF and police, are appreciated. My heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this tragedy!”, he said.
Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Chief Altaf Bukhari And People’s Conference chief Sajad Lone also expressed shock and grief over the loss of lives.
In a post on X, Altaf Bukhari said, “Devastated by the tragic accident near Battery Chashma on national highway, where 10 people are feared dead.”
“My deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. Grateful for the relentless efforts of district administration Ramban and local youth who carried out this difficult rescue operation in deep gorge,” he wrote.
He said, “Appreciating local heroes like Banihal volunteers, civil QRT volunteers Ramban, and civil QRT volunteers Ramsoo, and other volunteers always available for rescue operations on the national highway. Sending prayers for strength and healing to all affected families.” “Heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in a road accident in Ramban,” Sajad Lone said in a post on X.
President of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vikar Rasool Wani expressed grief over the loss of lives and wrote on X, “Anguished to hear about the tragic road accident on the Jammu-Srinagar NH near Battery Chashma, Ramban where a passenger taxi rolled down in a deep gorge, resulting in the loss of 10 lives. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of those who lost their loved ones.”
Expressing shock over the tragic accident that resulted in the death of ten travelers the Chairman J&K Peoples Democratic Front and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen while expressing his shock over the accident extended his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families. He also sought adequate compensation to the bereaved families.
