Srinagar : Police in Ganderbal under the civic action programme on Tuesday organized drug awareness programme at Govt. Degree College Kangan.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the event was organised on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Sandeep Gupta, under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan. The event was aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse, prevention strategies and appropriate responses in case of encountering drug-related situations. The programme was attended by Principal Degree College Kangan Prof Sadaf Hameed, AP Waseem Yaseen, AP Zahoor Ahmad, senior police officers, scholars, professors, students, social activists and other stakeholders.
On the occasion, Speakers belonging to different fields of profession spoke about the disastrous consequences of Drug Abuse & they further encouraged the students to refrain from the dreadful menace of drug addiction. Moreover, SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan, Assistant professor Zahoor Ahmad Dar & Law instructor PTS Manigam Inspector Mudasir Hameed also delivered lectures to the students, empowering them with essential knowledge to recognize the symptoms of drug abuse and offering guidance on appropriate initial responses. They provided students with a deeper understanding of the challenges posed by Drug Abuse.
Moreover, comprehensive presentation, views & opinions on valuable insights on various facets of drug addiction was put up to aware the students about the causes and consequences of this severe menace. The awareness programme at GDC Kangan serves as a testament to Ganderbal Police’s commitment to the well-being of the community and its dedication to foster a drug-free environment for the youth. At the conclusion of the event, mementos were distributed among the dignitaries for their participation in the programme.
