Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three persons for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Kulgam and also seized three vehicles involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Kund during Naka checking at Kanchloo Crossing intercepted vehicles (Tractors) loaded with illegally extracted minerals, adding therein that the accused drivers were arrested and the vehicles used in the commission of crime were also seized.
Stating that cases under FIR No. 09 & 10/2024 under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Kund besides initiating investigation,
Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
