Jammu: A hardcore criminal has been arrested alongwith a country-made pistol and two live cartridges in Vijaypur area under Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.
The police said during special vehicle checking naka at Gurha Morh, Vijaypur on Monday, an SUV on its way from Jammu towards Kathua was intercepted for checking.
“On seeing the police party, the driver tried to escape but alert cops successfully intercepted the vehicle and apprehended him. During checking, a country-made automatic pistol alongwith two live cartridges was recovered from his possession,” said police.
They added that the driver identified as Narayan Sharma alias Shuna of Thalori Brahmana, Vijaypur, district Samba, was arrested and a case under relevant sections was registered for further investigation.
