Srinagar: Below is the timeline of weeklong engagement of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha at major public events within and outside Jammu & Kashmir:-
On 18th March, Family members of the missing Seaman from Jammu Sahil Verma, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhawan. The Lt Governor assured every possible support from the administration to the family to ensure the safe return of Sahil Verma. On the same day, S. Chandeep Singh, International Para Athlete called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan. He expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor led UT Administration for the issuance of driving licence in his favour.
On Mar 19, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the inaugural ceremony of ‘Goonj-2024’ a multi-genre mega festival hosted by University of Jammu. Goonj-2024 has been curated to celebrate vibrant and diverse culture, offers educational institutions to highlight their strengths, promote collaboration and contribute to strengthen the educational landscape in J&K. The Lt Governor congratulated the entire team of University of Jammu for providing a unique platform to the students to express their creativity, showcase their talents and engage in a dynamic learning environment.
On Mar 19, Lieutenant Governor Sinha chaired a review meeting of the Health and Medical Education Department with the senior officials and Principals of Government Medical Colleges. Heads of Departments also participated in the meeting.
On 20th March, Arvind Mattoo, Founder, KoshurRAAG – a US-based NGO, called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhawan. Mattoo briefed the Lt Governor about the ongoing endeavours of his organization to promote the rich cultural heritage of Jammu Kashmir through music and related arts.
On 22th March, Jammu Kashmir Raj Bhawan hosted Bihar Diwas celebration. Senior officials, Students and the residents of Bihar living in J&K were the special invitees on the occasion. Addressing the guests, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of Bihar on the auspicious day.He said since ancient times, Bihar was known as the centre of spirituality, education and made significant contribution to all aspects of vibrant art and culture of the country.
On March 23, LG Sinha on Shaheed Diwas, paid homage to the great sons of Maa Bharti, legendary freedom fighters, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. Their unwavering courage, revolutionary spirit, and selfless sacrifice continue to inspire us all.
