Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested four persons for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla district and also seized four vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO Police Station Baramulla seized four vehicles (Excavator, three tippers) and arrested four drivers at Khanpora and Dargam Baramulla who have been identified as Gh Hassan Waza S/o Ab Rehman R/o Sheeri Zandfaran, Mohd Shafi Parra S/o Ab Ahad R/o Hamrey Pattan, Zubair Ahmad Dar S/o Sonaullah Dar & Altaf Ahmad Dar S/o Ali Mohd both residents of Khanpora Baramulla involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Baramulla besides initiating further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of itsabove quoted statement appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Police also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
