Kupwara: The first phase of randomization was conducted for allocation of Ballot Units (BUs), Control Units (CUs) and VVPATs for all the six assembly segments of the Kupwara district for the upcoming parliamentary elections 2024 on Friday.
The process was overseen by District Election Officer (DEO), Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan in presence of AROs, Dy.DEOKupwara and Political party representatives.
The first randomization was aimed to allocate Ballot Units, Control Units, and VVPATS, for all the six assembly constituencies of the district as there are a total of 611 polling centers in the district for upcoming LokSabha Elections. Randomization was shared with AROs and political parties.
The District Election Officer, on the occasion, emphasized that the objective of randomization is to ensure transparent and impartial elections, devoid of human interference, facilitated by dedicated software.
Prior to the randomization, political representatives were briefed about the process, regarding the implementation of necessary measures to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
Second phase of randomization will entail further randomization for the allocation of EVMs to individual polling stations. This meticulous approach underscores the commitment to conducting free and fair elections in the district.
