Anantnag arrested for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Kulgam, vehicle also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested resident of Sangam Anantnag for his involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Kulgam district and also seized his vehicle for involvement in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Mirbazar intercepted a vehicle (Dumper) bearing registration number JK13G-4107 loaded with illegally extracted minerals and driven by one Yaser Hameed Dar S/o Abdul Hameed Dar R/o Sather Sangam, Anantnag who was arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 80/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Qazigund besides initiating further investigation , Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
