Voters Education & Participation Prog under SVEEP held at GDC Women Ang

Anantnag: A voters’ education and participation programme under SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) was on Wednesday held at Government Degree College (GDC) for Women Anantnag.
The theme of the programme was ‘Importance of Vote in Democratic Setup’ and ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure.’
The programme was organized jointly by the SVEEP Cell Anantnag, Government Degree College for Women, District Information Centre & Cultural Unit (Information Kashmir). It is a part of the SVEEP campaign being organized in Anantnag under the guidance of the District Election Officer SF. Hamid.
The programme was attended by the students and staff from various colleges, District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Coordinator, SVEEP and other officials.
During the programme the Election Song ‘Main Bharat Hoon’ translated into Kashmiri language was played. Students from various colleges and ambassadors delivered valuable lectures on the theme, and a quiz contest was also organized. A NukkadNatak (short play) on the participation of eligible voters in voting was also enacted.
The District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Anantnag while speaking to the students emphasized on the role of voting in safeguarding democratic ideals of the country. Other speakers encouraged the students and participants to raise awareness about the value of vote among their families and friends.
Notably, the emphasis of the SVEEP campaign in Anantnag is on motivating and encouraging general masses, the first time voters and inclusive voters such as the ones from various categories as Persons with Disability, female, transgender and tribals to participate & vote in the upcoming General elections.
