Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has recovered illicit Diesel from village Janwara Sopore in the jurisdiction of Police Post Warpora and arrested an accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on receiving specific inputs about transportation of an illicit Diesel, a police party of Police Post Warpora headed by Incharge Police Post Warpora under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir and SHO Police Station Sopore raided the specific location and during search, police recovered three barrels of illicit Diesel from the spot, adding therein that the accused Javaid Ahmad Mir S/o Ghulam Muhammad Mir R/o Mapanpora Sopore was arrested on the spot.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigation into the case, Police
in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to co-operate with law enforcement agencies in the battle against crime.
