Srinagar: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen on Wednesday expressed serious concern over the increasing civilian fatalities due to attacks of man -eater Leopard in various areas of Khansahib particularly in Simsaan and Yarikhah villages . He said recently a boy was killed by a men- eater Leopard in Simsaan village and another boy was seriously injured Tuesday this week .
In a statement issued from Party Headquarters, Hakeem while expressing concern over the continuing fatal attacks on civilians by man eater Leoperds in Simsaan village, has urged the government to intensify men and machinery to eliminate the wild animals roaming in various areas of Khansahib . He said people in the area are passing sleepless nights due to fear and seek safety of their lives. He said peasants of the area were scared to go to their fields for farming activities due to fear of wild animals .
PDF Chief has urged the wildlife warden to deploy staff for elimination of the leopard on prowl in the area. On this occasion Yaseen asked the Deputy Commissioner, Budgam to disburse compensation in favour of the victims at the earliest .
