Sopore: As a step towards empowering young girls through sports Indian Army organised a Badminton Tournament at Sanctorum Public School, Sopore here on Tuesday. The event was conducted at indoor badminton court, where young girls showcased the spirit of athleticism and camaraderie throughout the tournament.
According to a statement issued from Chinar Corps Baramulla, a total of eight teams participated from Sopore, demonstrating their skills and passion for the sport. The tournament, which spanned over two days on March 18 and 19 2024, witnessed a high level of competition and exemplary sportsmanship.
The league matches were well contested, providing a platform for the participants to showcase their talent and determination. The tournament was divided into two groups: singles and doubles, catering to a variety of playing styles and strategies.
In the singles format, the team of Valley Public School emerged victorious, displaying exceptional skill and resilience throughout the tournament. In the doubles format, the team of Amargad High School showcased outstanding teamwork and coordination, securing their triumph in the competition.
