Srinagar : Hailing from the Anantnag District of Kashmir, Mehr Un Nisa had never imagined that her routine teaching and work as an Assistant Professor at Arni University in Himachal Pradesh would one day bring her national honour. The joy of receiving an Award, given by a prominent Social Welfare Organisation Kaveri, reached its tipping point when she was accompanied to the ceremony by her student who has now become an entrepreneur. Mehr Un Nisa, Assistant Professor, Department of Radiology, Arni School of Allied Health Sciences, Arni University bagged Kaveri’s ‘Mahila Shakti Vandan Samman,’ and become a source of great inspiration to young women of not only her state Kashmir but the entire nation. Apart from academic excellence she worked relentlessly to help students and staff during the heavy flood in Himachal Pradesh that had affected the campus badly. She stood up as a wall against all odds.
The ceremony held in New Delhi witnessed a moment of pride as Mehr Un Nisa, accompanied by her entrepreneurial student, Areeba Fatima, received a standing ovation. Areeba, who once studied under Mehr Un Nisa’s guidance at Arni School of Allied Health Sciences, Arni University, has since established her own Parlour and Boutique – Emaan Parlor and Emaan Collection, a testament to the mentorship and empowerment fostered within the institution.
Expressing her jubilation, Mehr Un Nisa remarked, “This award serves as a profound encouragement not only for me but for my students as well. I owe this honor to Arni University, which provides an enriching environment for academic and professional growth.” She credited the Chancellor of Arni University, Vivek Singh, for his visionary leadership, which integrates higher education with entrepreneurship development, thereby nurturing a culture of innovation and excellence.
” Areeba’s journey exemplifies the potential that lies within our students. This recognition motivates me to continue nurturing and extracting the best from our aspiring talents,” added the Assistant Professor of Radiology.
Congratulating Mehr Un Nisa on her remarkable achievement, Vivek Singh, Chancellor of Arni University, said, “This Award is a moment of pride for Arni University. Nisa’s contributions, reflected through the endeavors of Areeba and other students, resonate with our vision of ‘Skill Comprehensive Higher Education.’ Our holistic educational ecosystem aims not only to enhance employability but also to instill entrepreneurial spirit among our students, empowering them to make enduring contributions to society.” Moreover the university has also introduced initiatives under which books and other study materials are given free to the needed students. Mehr Un Nisa’s recognition epitomizes the transformative impact of education in shaping empowered, entrepreneurial leaders, transcending boundaries, and inspiring generations to come.
