Jammu : Jammu and Kashmir on Friday witnessed a significant milestone as Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) organised India Skills Competitions in Cyber Security and Graphic Design Techniques .
This event, part of the IndiaSkills 2023-24 initiative, showcased the prowess of more than 250 participants across 18 skill trades.
J&K, renowned for its artistic and culinary skills, now sees its youth actively engaging in advanced skills like web design, graphic design, software solutions for business, and mobile robotics.
The IndiaSkills competition, orchestrated by JKSDM, aims to propel India onto the global stage as a hub for skill excellence.
The ongoing competitions, a collaborative effort between JKSDM, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) under the Government of India, and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), have received active support from the Skill Development Department in Jammu and Kashmir. These competitions encompass a diverse range of job roles, from beauty therapy, cooking, and fashion technology to technical skills such as CNC Turning and Cyber Security.
The State Level Competition for Cyber Security and IT software solutions was held on Friday at partner institution NIELIT Jammu.
Participants from across the J&K showcased their talents, marking a crucial stepping stone towards pre-National competitions, National level competitions, and the esteemed World Skills Competitions set to be held in Lyon, France later this year.
Leena Padha, Mission Director of JKSDM, expressed commitment to such initiatives, stating, “JKSDM remains dedicated to organizing opportunities for the youth of J&K. State Level Competitions in 18 skill sets are being conducted at various venues across the J&K, where more than 250 candidates will compete to represent J&K in Pre-National and National Level Competitions.”
As the India Skills Competitions continue to unfold, they not only celebrate the talents of the youth but also position Jammu and Kashmir as a thriving hub for skill development and innovation on both national and international fronts.
