GDC Kathua JKEDI collaborate to promote entrepreneurship among students

Kathua : The Department of Business Administration Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), on Friday organized an Awareness Programme on the New Jammu and Kashmir Start-Up Policy 2024-27.
The event aimed to inspire students towards entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-starting initiatives.
Under the guidance of the College Principal Prof. Seema Mir, the program was designed to encourage young minds to explore the realm of entrepreneurship and innovation. She appreciated the organizing team for their efforts in promoting such initiatives for the holistic development of the students.
The chief guest of the event Dr. Sanjay Kurlupia, highlighted the crucial role of startups in job creation and emphasized the need for raising awareness about entrepreneurship among the youth.
Speaking at the event, Dr. R. K Pandita motivated the students to transform their innovative ideas into viable ventures with the support of JKEDI, which plays a pivotal role in the implementation of the new startup policy.
District Nodal Officer JKEDI Kathua Dheeraj Handoo and District Coordinator JKEDI Kathua Hari Bhushan who were the resource persons elucidated on the recently launched New Jammu and Kashmir Start-Up Policy 2024-27 by the J&K government and provided insights into how aspiring entrepreneurs can benefit from these schemes, including funding opportunities and the policy’s implementation framework.
Head of the Department of Business Administration Dr. Jasvinder Singh, extended a warm welcome to the attendees. The event was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Jasvinder Singh along with Prof. Ajay Sharma, Dr. Tejeshwar Singh, Prof. Rohit Gupta, and Dr. Supriya Gupta.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Tajeshwar Singh, Department of BBA, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers. Over 100 students from the BBA department actively participated in the event, reflecting their keen interest in entrepreneurial endeavors.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed faculty members including Dr. Nelam Bhagat, Prof. Ravinder Kour, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Prof. Shiwani Kotwal, Prof. Ambica Rajput, Dr. Ram Singh, Prof. Manmohan Singh, Prof. Charandeep Handa, Prof. Rakhi, Dr. Rahul Gupta, and others, who added valuable insights to the discussions.
