Pulwama: Krishi Vigyan Kendra/Extension Training Centra Pulwama in collaboration with Division of Animal Nutrition, FVSc & AH Shuhama organized the 2nd phase of awareness cum distribution programme on MULTINUTRIENT BLOCK (MNB) supplements for ruminant Livestock at KVK Campus on Friday, 15th March 2024.
As per the official statement, the programme was part of a continued activity carried under DAHD-NLM funded project “Sustainable livelihood improvement of resource poor farmers through livestock productivity augmentation by standardization and popularization of value-added animal feed supplements in Kashmir Himalayas”.
The aim of the programme was to create awareness among livestock farmers about use and importance of MNB. Prof. & Head, KVK/ETC Malangpora, Dr. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo while speaking on the occasion stressed upon the participating farmers to adapt scientific practices in farming for making it more lucrative. He thanked the Division of Animal Nutrition for their proactive approach in addressing the farmers issue.
Dr. Yasir Afzal, PI of the project gave a detailed lecture on the use and method of feeding of these MNBs, while Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Ganie, Scientist Animal Science, KVK Pulwama highlighted the role of these blocks in balanced feeding. On the occasion, MNB supplements were also distributed among 50 participating farmers free of cost. while giving the feed back farmers have also narrated how these blocks have improved the health and production of their animals and were in full praise for the joint efforts of KVK Pulwama and Division of Animal Nutrition, FVSc & AH Shuhama.
