Jammu : Additional Deputy Commissioner AnsuyaJamwalon Thursday chaired the District Level Coordination Committee meeting on National Tobacco Control Programme implementation in the district. Key stakeholders participated in the discussion, shedding light on critical aspects of tobacco control.
Dr. Mridula Singh delivered a detailed presentation outlining the objectives of the programme, with a focus on raising awareness about tobacco’s harmful effects and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA). Highlighting the menace of second-hand smoke, it was emphasised that passive smoking poses a significant threat to public health.
