Illicit timber recovered in Sopore, B’la , B’gam: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has recovered an illicit timber in Sopore, Baramulla and Budgam police districts and also arrested the accused for being involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party of Police Station Dangiwacha headed by SHO Police Station Dangiwacha during patrolling at village Bonibal Rawoocha, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK05D 3903 driven by Mir Ikhlas Ahmad Abasi S/o Nazir Ahmad R/o Nowpora Hamal Rafiabad and during search recovered 10 logs of illicit timber were recovered from the vehicle besides arresting the accused driver and seizing the illicit timber, vehicle have been seized.
Police also in it’s statement further said that in Baramulla Police on reliable inputs recovered 8 logs of illicit timber (Deodar) from compartment No 9 Bimyar Boniyar besides arresting the accused identified as Mushtaq Ahmad S/o Ali Mohd, Maroof Ahmad S/o Amod Yaqoob Khan & Ab Rehman S/o Mohd Ismail, all residents of Bimyar Boniyar.
Stating that in a similar action in Budgam, following inputs about illicit timber in Forest area of Village Hamchipora, a Police party from Police Station Khag rushed to the spot and seized the illicit timber comprising of 8 logs measuring 12 Cft, the Police in it’s statement further said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at respective police stations besides initiating invvestigations. In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to share information regarding social evils or any other unlawful activities with Police through the nearest police establishment or by simply dialling 112.
