Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Wussan headed by Incharge Police Post Wussan at a checkpoint established at Noorbagh Crossing Wussan, intercepted a suspect identified as Mohd Lateef Teli S/o Mohd Yousuf R/o Ussan Khoie and later during search recovered 3.1 Kgs of Cannabis Powder from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to Police Station Pattan where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that a police party of Police Post Mirgund headed by Incharge Police Post Mirgund at a checkpoint established at Odina near Transit Accommodation, intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK16A-8457 driven by one Mohammad Afzal Parray S/o Assadullah Parray R/o Batpora Wakura Ganderbal who was arrested and shifted to Police Station Pattan where he remains in custody, adding therein that during search, 130 grams of Cannabis Powder was recovered from the possession of the said accused.
Stating that the Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law at respective police stations besides initiating investigation, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society.
