Srinagar|March, 8: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) and former Minister has appealed the the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce a massive employment package for un- employed youth of Jammu and Kashmir including regularisation of about 60, 000 daily rated works , who were eagerly waiting for this goodwill gesture during his recent visit to Srinagar . He said people were also hoping an announcement about restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir as promised to them by parliament .
Addressing a public meeting at Kheeri Gund in Chrari Sharief Constituency on Saturday , Hakeem said people of Jammu and Kashmir have pinned high hopes with the Prime Minister Narindera Modi ,hoping that he will not let them down . “ Early announcement about restoration of statehood was imperative to meet socio political apirations of the people ,“ Hakeem said adding that dolling out of multiple developmental schemes was a routine practice . He appealed Prime Minister to immediately announce job package for unemployed youth in view of rising expectations of youth and also restore statehood and relief from the power crisis . He hoped that Prime Minister would rise to the occasion and give people their democratic right to elect their own public representatives. He said holding of early assembly elections was imperative to remove the prevailing socio political uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir, adding therein that “ Peoples aspirations can in no way be fulfilled by imposing imported governments”. Hakeem however cautioned people against dubious political parties who have always betrayed their trust for power. “Prevailing political situation in Kashmir was a testimony to this reality ,“ Hakeem said while asking the people to defeat all opportunist political parties. He said vote in the forthcoming elections should be on the basis of performance and goodwill among the masses but not on emotional blackmail.
