Justice Rabstan, Justice Mohd Akram inaugurate National Lok Adalat at Reasi

Legal Aid Care dedicated to people at Pouni,Progress of work on Katra Court Complex reviewed

Reasi: Justice TashiRabstan, Executive Chairman JK Legal Services Authority and Justice Mohammad AkramChoudhary, Administrative Judge for District Reasion Saturday inaugurated the first National Lok here at District Court Complex Reasi.
The National LokAdalat at District Court Complex Reasi was organized by District Legal Service Authority under the guidance of Chairperson DLSA Sonia Gupta. Member Secretary, JKSLSA Amit Gupta, Deputy Commissioner ReasiVishesh Paul Mahajan, CJM ReasiArchanaCharak, SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma and Additional Special Mobile Magistrate ReasiShabnum Sheikh and bar members were also present on the occasion.
Four Benches were constituted for settlement of Criminal (compoundable and petty offences), Civil, Revenue, Social Welfare matters and Motor Vehicle accident cases.
In MACT related cases, LokAdalat Bench led by Sonia Gupta (PDSJ Reasi) and assisted by Advocates R. K Sharma and V.K Sharma awarded compensation of Rs.1,50,30,000/- (one crore fifty lakh thirty thousand only).
A total number of 418 cases were taken up for settlement by all the benches of which 350 cases were settled and a fine of Rs. 22,800/- (twenty two thousand eight hundred only) and other settled amount (including bank matters) to the tune of Rs. 14,62, 604/- (fourteen lakh sixty two thousand six hundred four only) was relaized.
Justice TashiRabstan Executive Chairman JKSLA and Justice Mohammad AkramChoudhary, Administrative Judge for District Reasi interacted with the members of the bar and judicial officers.
The Bar Association members put forth their grievance before the visiting Judges of the High Court, who assured them of prompt redressal of the issues including construction of new Court Complex at Reasi and early completion of under construction Court Complex at Katra.
Later, Justice TashiRabstan Executive Chairman JKSLA accompanied by Amit Kumar Gupta Member Secretary, and chairman DLSA Sonia Gupta proceeded to Tehsil Pouni where a Legal Aid Care and Support Clinic was inaugurated in the Community Facilitation Centre.
Earlier in the morning, Justice TashiRabstan, also the Chairman of infrastructure committee for Subordinate Courts of Jammu Division, accompanied by Justice Mohammad AkramChoudhary visited the under-construction New Court Complex Katra and took stock of the progress of the work.
