Distt-Level Awareness Prog on Vishwakarma Scheme orgainsed in B’pora

Bandipora : In a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the district administration of Bandipora, a District-level awareness program on the Vishwakarma scheme was organized.
The event was aimed to enlighten artisans about the schemes & potential benefits.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shakeel Ur Rehman the Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora. The program saw active participation from various key officials, including the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Assistant Commissioner Development, and General Manager of District Industries Centre (GM DIC) from Bandipora, alongside other district officers.
Saheel Alaqband Assistant Director represented the MSME office.
During his inaugural address, DC Bandipora highlighted that the PM Vishwakarma Scheme is designed to offer a spectrum of major benefits to artisans, encompassing credit support, tool kit incentives, and access to markets. The comprehensive nature of these benefits aims to uplift and empower artisans across various trades.
The scheme’s credit support component is expected to provide crucial financial assistance to artisans, facilitating their entrepreneurial endeavors and enabling them to enhance their skills and productivity. Additionally, the tool kit incentive is anticipated to equip artisans with the necessary resources to improve the quality of their work and overall productivity.
During the event, Saheel Alaqband Assistant Director provided a comprehensive overview of the Vishwakarma scheme, explaining the application process and highlighting its significance. He emphasized how the scheme would empower artisans across 18 different trades.
The program witnessed the active participation of more than 250 individuals, reflecting the community’s keen interest in the Vishwakarma scheme. ACD provided a brief insight into the scheme’s performance in the district, and the CSC manager of District Bandipora delivered a detailed presentation on the application process in the technical session
This collaborative effort between the Ministry of MSME field office Srinagar and the district administration signifies a proactive approach to empower local artisans and promote sustainable growth in the unorganized sector.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and commitment towards the successful implementation of the Vishwakarma scheme in the district.
